Attendance
If a child is absent at any time, a note must be sent into school on his/her return giving the reason. We are required by law to record these reasons and any absences for which we have not received a note are classed as truancies. We ask parents and carers to telephone us before 9.15am to let us know when their child is not coming in. If a child is absent and we have not heard from you, we will telephone to confirm that your child is supposed to be away and ask the reason why.
Please note that the school will not authorise any holidays during term time unless they are exceptional, i.e. returning forces personnel. If your child has unauthorised absences and/or unacceptably poor punctuality levels, you may face penalty charges and possible prosecution. Please ensure that your child is in school every day. If you wish your child to be considered for an authorised holiday, please request a form from the office.
