Chestnut Class Explores Nature at Great Dixter

Chestnut Class had a truly fantastic day out at Great Dixter, made even better by the cooler, comfortable weather. The day began with a fascinating session on plant life, where the children used magnifying glasses to examine flowers up close and learned about their intricate structures.

Next, we set off on a nature walk through the stunning gardens. The vibrant array of flowers provided the perfect inspiration for some beautiful sketches and paintings. The children captured the various colours and shapes they observed.

In the afternoon, the adventure continued with Forest School activities. The children embraced the outdoors—climbing trees, building dens, and even making their own pancake batter to cook over a fire they helped build. It was a wonderful mix of creativity, exploration, and teamwork.

All in all, it was a day full of discovery, fun, and unforgettable memories!
