Happy New Year, Honeybees families!

As the frost-kissed mornings sparkle and the winter sun casts golden beams across our playground, we are buzzing with joy to welcome you all back to another magical term in the Honeybees classroom! It feels so good to reopen the hive and greet your wonderful little learners, each one shining with smiles, stories, and fresh curiosity.

And to our brand-new buzzers who are just beginning their preschool journey with us—welcome, welcome, WELCOME!  We are absolutely delighted to have you with us and have already seen your gentle curiosity and bright spirits take flight. Whether it's your very first classroom or just a new adventure, know that you are safe, cherished, and part of a big, buzzing family here.

This week has been all about settling in, snuggling into routines, and remembering the joy of being together again. We’ve shared hugs, songs, and stories—and even braved the chilly air to visit our beloved farm friends! Wrapped up like little snow explorers (hats, scarves, mittens—check!), we ventured out to feed the goats and chickens, who greeted us with cheerful bleats and clucks. Watching the children’s faces light up as they offer food and whisper sweet words to the animals was truly heartwarming.

Inside the classroom, we’ve been exploring a very special theme: "Different."  From noticing differences in shapes, colours, and sounds to understanding how each of us has unique feelings and ways of expressing ourselves, we’ve been learning that being different is beautiful. Our hearts melted during circle time when we read The Colour Monster by Anna Llenas—a gentle, magical story that helped us talk about emotions in the most colourful of ways.

On a deeply heartfelt note—thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.  The cards, the thoughtful gifts, and the words of kindness shared at the end of last term) made us feel so very appreciated by our wonderful families. It makes all our buzzing efforts feel so meaningful. We truly feel like the luckiest team in preschool land!

What’s Buzzing Next Week?

We’re diving into the world of 3D shapes! From cubes to cylinders, spheres to pyramids, we’ll be touching, stacking, rolling, and exploring the magical properties of 3D shapes. Get ready for shape hunts, creative building challenges, and maybe even a “Mystery Shape Box” game! We’ll be talking about faces, edges, and corners—but don’t worry, it’s all play-based and packed with giggles.

A Friendly Hive Reminder:

As our days grow colder and frost lingers in the air, please ensure your little bee comes dressed in warm, layered clothing—not just waterproof coats. Fleece jumpers, thermal vests, warm boots, and hats are all essential for outdoor learning and animal visits. Our goal is for them to stay warm and engaged, come rain, frost, or sunshine!

Thank you as always for your support, communication, and partnership. Together, we are helping our Honeybees grow—being confident, kind, and full of wonder.

With warm wishes,

The Honeybees Teaching Team 🐝
