Things are getting hot in Oak!

We’ve had another fantastic week of learning, and the children have been working very hard across all subjects. Here’s a little insight into what we’ve been up to in class:

In English, the children have been developing their model text about the Great Fire of London. They have been adding extra detail to different parts of the story to bring it to life. Using their senses, they imagined what they might have seen, heard, smelt and touched if they had been there at the time.

In Maths, the children have been learning how to partition numbers into tens and ones using a part-part-whole model. They have also been working on number bonds and learning how to approach problems systematically to make sure they find every possible solution.

Our History lessons about the Great Fire of London have been very engaging. This week, the children discovered just how far the fire spread over the four days, as well as the reasons to why it spread so quickly across the city.

The children have really impressed us with their enthusiasm and hard work this week. We are very proud of their efforts and are looking forward to seeing what they achieve next week.
