Year 3 Forest School Adventures! 🌿
This term has been truly magical for our Year 3 children as they embraced every moment of their Forest School learning. From the very first session, the children threw themselves into exploring nature, working together, and discovering the joy of outdoor learning. Their enthusiasm has been wonderful to see!
A real highlight was their recent visit to Great Dixter. A few weeks ago, the children spent the day wandering through the beautiful gardens, taking in the vibrant colours, learning about different plants, and experiencing the calm of such a special environment. The team at Dixter were incredibly welcoming, and the children loved having the chance to explore, sketch, ask questions, and get hands-on with the natural world around them.
Back at Forest School, the adventures didn’t stop there. The children have enjoyed a wide range of activities—from building shelters and crafting using natural materials to investigating minibeasts and learning outdoor safety skills. Each session has encouraged teamwork, creativity, and resilience, and it's been wonderful watching the children grow in confidence as they take on new challenges.
Whether they were climbing, problem-solving, or simply enjoying the peace of being outdoors, the children showed curiosity, imagination, and a real sense of joy in every activity. Their muddy boots, bright smiles, and excited stories at the end of each session say it all—it’s been a fantastic term filled with unforgettable learning experiences in the great outdoors!
