Year 5 Tree Planting at St Francis Field

During last week's farm school, Year 5 were lucky enough to go and visit St Francis Field to plant some trees and look at how they are developing the space into a nature reserve. We planted two elm trees as part of a project to develop the woodland environment and encourage more diverse wildlife. We were also treated to a tour of the rest of the reserve, looking at several ponds which have been developed to enhance newt and frog populations, as well as a reptile den, specifically to house lizards. Year 5 were very interested in the wildlife development and how this might change over the next few years.
