• Friday 24 October 2025 Willow class try salt Firework Painting! In Willow Class, the children have been learning all about the numbers 1, 2, and 3 in Maths. They have been exploring different ways to represent each number using objects, pictures, and number formations. The class has been practising subitising, quickly recognising small quantities without counting, through fun games and activities. They have also been working on finding one more and one less than each number using number tracks, songs, and hands-on resources.
• Wednesday 15 October 2025 Willow Class gets to grips with measurements! This week, Willow Class has been learning all about capacity and mass in their Maths lessons. The children explored different containers to compare how much liquid they could hold, using terms like "full," "empty," "more than," and "less than." Through hands-on activities and fun challenges, the class developed a better understanding of how to measure and estimate both capacity and mass. Everyone enjoyed the practical learning and worked hard to use the correct vocabulary in their discussions. Willow Class had great fun exploring weight by using scales to compare conkers and acorns. The children carefully placed the natural objects on balance scales to see which were heavier or lighter, and they enjoyed predicting the results before testing them. They used mathematical language such as "heavier," "lighter," and "balance" as they worked in pairs to investigate. Some were surprised to find that even though conkers are
• Tuesday 7 October 2025 Willow Class gets all Magical! Willow Class had a magical week creating potions using a variety of autumnal treasures they had gathered from the fields. With baskets full of vibrant leaves, shiny conkers, acorns, herbs and fruits the children set to work mixing their ingredients with great excitement and imagination. Carefully stirring their concoctions in containers, they added splashes of sweet smelling tea, slices of fruits chopped by themselves and a pinch of magical lavender to kick start the magic!. The children really enjoyed explaining what their potions do: turn your into a dinosaur, making you invisible, making your super fast, the list goes on!

• Thursday 19 June 2025 Willow Class Round UP! With the sports day events, it's been a very busy week in Willow! We had a great time supporting our house teams by cheering them on and trying our hardest!
• Wednesday 11 June 2025 Willow class explore using a Story Mountain! This week in Willow, we have started our new Talk for Writing story 'Rosie's Walk'. We have begun by sequencing the story and exploring propositional concepts such as: around, through, over and past. Problem and solutions have been the focus for this week. We have explored this using a story mountain and identifying each obstacle the cheeky fox faced as he was trying to catch Rosie the hen! Willow have found this an amusing story. The children then had a go at drawing their own story mountain, sequencing the events, adding labels and adding sentences summarising the problem in the story. Fantastic work Willow!
